Our History

Explore the rich history and milestones of USLA’s journey in fostering a unified Sri Lankan community in New Zealand.

Formation: Formalized with the adoption of an ad hoc Constitution and the election of an Executive Committee in November 1983.

Registration: Officially registered on 7th December 1983.

Evolution: The original constitution was refined in the late 1990s to broaden aims and objectives, and re-registered in May 1998.
