Please join us at 6.30pm on the 19thMay 2020 by visiting the link below: http://facebook.com/srilankans.nz On 18 May 2009, following a fierce year-long military offensive, the Sri Lankan government claimed an end to the 30 year civil war/ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka. This was the longest running civil war in Asia, and more than one hundred thousand people lost their lives. The scars of the war have still not healed. All of us felt the pain of this war and for those of us living in New Zealand, it was a joy and relief to hear the news that the war had ended.
